Meetings are on Sundays at 7:30pm, with announcements/news at 8:15. Stop by and introduce yourself. You get decals/stickers after three meetings. We do an after meeting activity at least once a month. Check the board before each meeting to see if we have an event planned like Bowling, Pool, Go Karts, or Cruise the Strip. Tuesday - August 12 - Drive to Concorso Italiano - We leave Las Vegas on August 12 for the first leg of the journey to Monterey and Concorso Italiano. Concorso Italiano is a Celebration of Italian exotic and classic automobiles during the Monterey Historic Races Weekend in California. We will travel to Cambria and stay overnight at the charming seaside Fog Catcher Inn. After breakfast, we will take a scenic coastal drive to Monterey. Members are responsible for arranging their own accommodations at each location. Saturday - August 23, 2008 - 5:30 PM - Family and friends of Gabe Telles are hosting a classic car show on August 23 at the old Nissan building at 5050 West Sahara Ave to raise funds for Gabe's liver transplant. I need a little help and am hoping I can count on your support. One of my best friends is very sick and needs our help. I have known Gabe Telles for over 20 years, I went to college with him, and during that time Gabe got very sick, and at the young age of 22 Gabe needed a new liver. To make a long story short his "loaner liver" is now giving out and he needs a new transplant again to live. Gabe is now married and has two kids, he was also the sole bread winner. We are doing a car show where all the proceeds will go to Gabe's family to help alleviate some of the financial strain he and his family are feeling. Enjoy good food and entertainment. Sunday - September 7 - 10:00AM - Belgian F1 - The Belgian Grand Prix is at Spa-Francorchamps. We will be enjoying brunch and viewing it on the big screen and high-definition flat screen TVs. Join us at Porchlight Grille at 8416 W. Desert Inn Rd in the Vons Mall, corner of Durango 702-562-3990. Good food, parking within view of the restaurant, flat screen TVs and an upscale atmosphere make this a fun event. This race was won last year by Kimi Raikkonen. Expect some photo opportunities of the girls and barmaids who may pose for us by our cars (if we remember to tip them enough - OK? ), and there is also a possibility that the Bud Light Girls or Miller Lite Girls will make an appearance. Also making an appearance will be one of the fastest cars in the world - a car that you can drive, if you have the coin. The LRS Formula One Driving School is bringing out a late model Formula 1 Car from their stable to exhibit for us so we can see the real deal first hand. With the LRS Formula USA driving school, you become the driver of an authentic open cockpit F1 Grand Prix race car. October 2006 was our last opportunity to see their cars up close.
